About Us
International Society of Minimally Invasive and Virtual Surgery (ISMIVS, previously known as International Society of Minimally Invasive and Noninvasive Medicine) was founded in July 2013 at the gala of the 1st Yangtze International Summit of Minimally Invasive and Noninvasive Medicine in Chongqing, China. ISMIVS envisions to accelerating progress in minimally invasive and noninvasive medicine by promoting research, education, communication, and international collaboration.

In July 2019, Prof. Zhibiao Wang, Director of National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine of China (NERCUM), announced the number of patients treated with US-guided Focused Ultrasound Ablation Surgery (FUAS) in the Fourth Yangtze International Summit of Minimally-Invasive and Noninvasive Medicine (ISMINIM 2019). A total of 121,814 treatments around the globe have been completed by the end of 2018, including 109,948 benign cases and 11,866 malignant cases.

From 2016 to 2019, NERCUM collected and analyzed the clinical data of 25,012 cases from 102 Chinese and overseas hospitals connected to the Telemedicine Center.

While we cannot avoid sufferings of women caused by nature and sickness, we should lessen their pain with whatever means we can provide.
We honour women with accolades like mother tongue, mother nature, mother earth and motherland. Let us pay tribute on International Women’s Day and honour women with “Mother Womb”, which is truly our very first home. Science has enabled us to conserve the womb affected by many illnesses and diseases, let us come together as medical professionals to save Mother Womb and lessen her sufferings”………

41 Chinese and overseas HIFU centers joined together and completed the world’s first live broadcasting of HIFU surgeries.
On 8 March, themed on “Connecting the World with Love and Preserving the Womb Despite COVID-19”, IWD-HIFU, a multi-center HIFU treatment event was initiated in Chongqing, China to celebrate the International Women’s Day. 41 Chinese and overseas HIFU centers performed and broadcasted live HIFU surgeries by connecting to the Haifu® Telemedicine Big Data Center headquartered in Chongqing.
High-intensity Focused Ultrasound(HIFU) ablation or Focused Ultrasound Ablative Surgery(FUAS) is a noninvasive therapeutic technology that concentrates the extracorporeal low-intensity ultrasound beams onto the targeted diseased tissue inside the body, resulting in an instant temperature rise at the focal point up to 60℃ to 100℃ and irreversible coagulative necrosis without damaging the surrounding healthy tissues. This technology can realize the treatment of diseases without open-cutting operations and bleeding and at the same time preserve the structure and function of the tissues and organs.………

Enrollment Now Open for 2020 HIFU Workshop-Bulgaria
With the previous successful HIFU Workshops respectively held in China, Egypt and South Africa over the past decade, ISMIVS will bring its HIFU experts and HIFU Workshop to Bulgaria in this October. It will join the hands of Chongqing Medical University, China and Saint Marina Hospital-Pleven, and Medical University-Pleven, Bulgaria to hold The Third International Training Workshop on Focused Ultrasound Therapy for Tumors (HIFU Workshop) in Saint Marina Hospital-Pleven in October 10-24, 2020.
2020 HIFU Workshop-Bulgaria is open to gynecologists, obstetricians, oncologists, interventional radiologists, surgeons, etc. who are interested in noninvasive High Intensity Focused Ultrasound therapy.
